We were so nervous and excited at the same time. We didn't end up winning the best presentation award, but WE WON THE BEST SHORT FILM AWARD AND THE BEST BLOG...Woooohoooooo... Though we didn't be the overall winner at least we won more awards than others :D It was an unforgettable day for us as it was a happy emotional day. Everything went quite smooth and it was time to say good bye to each other. Thanks Limkokwing London campus for giving us this opportunity.
So what did just happen on the final day? It was a good productive day started off with Mr. Mehrdad's speech. The presentation went well but we felt that our presentation was a bit lacking. And then had a speech our chief guest Mr. Joseph Jones and the rest of the judging panel. At about 4.30 we started getting our resulting. We were so nervous and excited at the same time. The wait is over!! I'm sure it will put a smile on your face. Enjoy !! Here is our my London video, Dance to the music. It was two days of shooting. We had too much of dancing and too much fun, specially in a busy Saturday. Most of our dancing steps are not in the video as it is so so bad :D We shot the video near some of the famous places such as, London eye, Big Ben, Buckingham palace, Green park and etc. It was two unforgettable days. Special thanks to our cameramen Deva, did a great job with the camera and editing. Hoping for the best. Fingers crossed
Today is our final day for documentation submission. Presentation documents, my London video, website and the blog should be submitted by today 5pm. All our team mates are busy bees and stressed. Everyone's happy with the end product. Hoping for the best. Fingers crossed. We were super excited today as we had a speech from his excellency hon.Dato' Ahmad Rasidi Hazizi. He is the high commissioner of Malaysia for United Kingdom.
Had good session with the high commissioner regarding the relationship between United Kingdom and Malaysia. Specially, it was great to hear about the Battersea power station project, which will be an advantage for the country's future. Just imagine if we are in Malaysia will it be it easy to meet someone like this ?:p. We are so lucky to be here to meet him and thank Limkokwing London campus staff for organising it. It was bright sunny day. Finally some sunshine in London. Feeling so fresh and energetic. So our day at the campus started with an academic evaluation and after we had a short brief on tomorrow's event. Later, we had a chance to go the Warner bros. Studio to visit the making of Harry Potter.I was so excited as im a huge Harry Potter fan. It was an amazing tour to see how the movie was actually shot and also to witness the real set of the movie. Overall, we had a great time and I recommend everyone to visit this place if your a true Harry Potter fan. NOPE, it will be really helpful to our career in the future, what ever the background we come from. As I have experienced, this project mainly be helpful when we start working in a company. "How to work with a team? How to collect data?how to allocate time? How to present your self?", are some of the key factors . Project is on its way to the completion. Almost done and the final touch up is going on. Excited about its uniqueness, where architectural wise it's has done some pretty good job and business wise it has been a clever move.Team has done a very good job overall. We do no want to expose much about it, as it will a surprise. We are so excited and looking forward to present it on Thursday. Never heard of this kind of bar until the judges mention about it on the first crit session earlier. "Being in basement isn't a weakness; but its a great opportunity. Go search on secret bar....." There are thousands of secret bar operating in the whole world. Yet, the city of LONDON is among the famous one. Earlier, speakeasy or a secret bar was relatively is an illegally cafe sells alcoholic beverages with no entertainment. But today, this business had growth it popularized and expanded to many different areas with varieties of entertainment either with or without alcohol sell. Eventually this had become an attraction places to visit as it offers a outstanding experience behind an unmarked hidden doors. Have a look at this few cafes: 1. BYOC in Covent Garden. 2. The EXPERIMENTAL COCKTAIL CLUB in Chinatown. 3. The HAPPINESS FORGETS in Hoxton Square. 4. THE MAYOR OF SCAREDY CAT TOWN in Liverpool street. (fridge door entrance) There are several ways to see Oxford - by bus, by foot, by water, by bike, and by car. Oxford City Guide recommends a combination of all five! Nothing beats walking around at your own pace seeing the things you want to see, but it's also nice sometimes to sit back and relax and watch the sights go by while an experienced tour guide tells you what you're looking at. Our own trusty editor got her first glimpse of Oxford from aboard a 'hop-on-hop-off' bus and was thankful to get the lay of the land before heading off with a map and a list of things she wanted to see again. If your this one kid who has this dream to travel around the world, I'm sure that London should be one of the places in your check list.If I'm being honest I fall in to that category too. Why would think London is so special? This city attracts people for its historical feel and the beauty of its royal architecture. In my opinion, London mean royal, as it is one of the kingdoms in the modern world. You can see how a queen lives and how a modern kingdom is ruled. As I speak about the modern part of the city it is no less in modern wise either. London eye, sea life aquarium, Madame Tussaud's, Howard's museum are some of the good examples. Other than these, London has some the historical places too which are museums, castles and etc. If I tell about the feeling of living in London. It is like some mix feelings where you love the city but at mean time you miss your home. I think it's just common between people but this is what I feel. Apart from that, the weather drives you crazy. When it comes to winter it will so cold and mostly snow and in summer it is so hot that you can't even stay. Mostly London is rainy. Fun fact is that, it is one of the expensive cities in the world to live :p I would recommend London for a short stay and enjoy the feel. But if you are this billionaire it will be your home. Marika Rauscher is a world famous opera and wedding singer. She has sung opera for some of the famous movies like, Harry potter, Madagascar 2 and etc. We had a session with her regarding how to improve our presentation skills. To be honest her presentation skills were fabulous. The lecture was around 4 hours but we dint feel the time was passing. she really do know how to take on an audience. This what a presenter should have. Her jokes in between made us come back to the track. Eye contacts, Body language, tone of the voice, verbal communication are one of the key factors of a presentation. It was a feel good presentation overall. And we learned alot about how to present and how to allocate the time. We were so lucky to be a part of this session. Today afternoon we had a group discussion with our supervisor Mr.Chris, updating him with progress of the whole week. We were happy that our supervisor liked the ideas the group were telling about how to market and attract people to the wing's cafe. We also had a chance to go to a cafe with Mr.Chris and discuss more about customer service and advertising. It was a good day overall .... :D It was an exciting day as visited the Westminster and we really got to know a lot of things about the history of how it was constructed and about the rulers. We were not allowed to take pictures in the Westminster palace, but I must say the ornaments inside were so beautiful and details on the carving were so précised. If you are visiting London,Westminster palace should be on your check list Today we had a research tour to the Victoria and Albert museum . Since we had our video shoot in the morning it was a tiring day for us, but this visit made us a bit energetic as it was interesting and knowledgeable. This museum contains some of the marvellous pieces of sculptures which has some great historical values. A good supervison is what a group needs. It is also a back bone for a group when doing a certain project. We have ideas, we have the thirst to succeed, but we need someone to guide us. So it's clear what I'm going to talk about. The back bone of our group and our supervisor, Mr. Chris. A great humble man with a smile on his face. We are so lucky to have a him as our supervisor. He gives us good advice and the proper guidance when it's come to planning the project and how to handle it. One thing that I noticed on the critics day is that he actually made us look special in front of the judging panel and he was one of reason's that we were appreciated on that day.So a man with a good heart and a good attitude, we are that one lucky group to have him. There is no doubt that the colours of an interior will change your mood. When we pay attention to some of the famous restaurants mostly they have red, orange and bright yellow as their interiors. These 3 colours do play main roles in our daily mood swing. Mostly dining rooms are popular with red interior. It's no coincident that most of the restaurants have red, yellow and orange as their interior. It's is because those are energize colours that are perfect to enjoy the food! Mmmm.... You don't have to limit those just in your dining room, but also it can be used in other area of your house. Use calm tones of these hues like coral, pastel and peach, they evoke the feel of joyfulness. Other colours like grey can make a bright artwork pop out. Grey is a steady, calm and quiet also it can tone dowm other vibrant shades. Trust me .... Grey a good choice for a for a living room, as I have experienced it. Shades of blue can be steady and powerful as well as cooling colour. Green has the ability to make us feel peaceful, relax and safe as well as merge with the nature. Those are few colours that can be used in a houses. So plan your interior and consult your colour expert to have a great feel in your house... :-D Hard rock cafe was established in 1971 old park lane, London. It is one of the famous cafe's across the world, where its has many branches. Hard rock cafe is not only famous for its food but also for live shows, casino and etc. It was a great pleasure for us to have a lunch at this famous cafe with our GC members and the staff. The decoration of the interior and the light settings was an inspiration for our current project. Thanks to Mehrdad and the crew to make this happen. Today was our second day of the shoot for the my London video. We started at 9 in morning and as usual it was fun day with the team. Had to do alot of dancing steps which was choreographed by Deva. I think everyone danced well , except me i guess :p I wont be writing much about the video as it will be a surprise.
Early morning started off with a visit to The Crystal as a research tour. Here we leant how to build a sustainable building by using renewable resources. It was quite interesting and useful for all of us and especially for the design students. According to the concept of Wing's Cafe renovation plan, reclaimed furniture’s will suit the cafe's dining area and also will be very helpful in financial wise. More on reclaimed furniture’s are explained below.
What? It is a preloved furniture that rediscovered and ready to be recycled into something new and useful. It is usually made of premium and plenty of materials which are immensely strong. Why? Generally, recycling and reusing a material gives lot of benefits towards the user as well as the environments. The most obvious environmental benefits of using reclaimed wood as opposed to non-recycled materials are that it prevents unnecessary waste flows. Besides, this may also reduce the statistic on forestation activity. Indeed, also to mention the fact that reclaimed timber is preferable as it offers a unique, quirky and exquisite look. Where? More and more people are now favor in getting reclaimed furniture for shops or home finishes and decoration. Yet, more market and business operate to supply plenty design of antique furniture starting from to a little sophisticated key hanger to a huge wardrobe. Refer this link for 50 antique and vintage shops in London, http://www.homesandantiques.com/feature/shopping/50-best-vintage-shops . Who? Anybody will get surprise with the product of a refresh fresh furniture idea. Some will even dare to spend huge amount of money to work or search for their style of item. http://www.communitywoodrecycling.org.uk/buy-wood/ is an good example of manufacturer who been producing a wide range of quality recycled wood. How? In process to produce new product, the reclaimed wood furniture is firstly cleaned and hand crafted into working material. The solid wood is then dried up with anti-infestation as to ensure consistent moisture content throughout. The material is then expertly handmade into finely crafted and unique dining tables, chairs, benches and many other furniture pieces. “Where there is no vision, there is no hope” George Washington Carver The photos shown below are the leaders of all three groups having a session with Mr. Mehrdad, the academic coordinator on Friday 27/03/2015 . We were discussing regarding the project progress, website, blog and video. It was a very informative and an inspiring brief session. I personally learnt a lot in s short while. It has been great pleasure working with a great positive team and wish to stay on track until the program ends. Royale set a great vision and working towards it to for an outstanding outcome. We can do this team Royale..!! As the Royale team planned, we had agreed to meet up on Saturday morning for a video shoot on 'My London',which is a part of the project. So we went to the green park to do the first shoot.. Hmmm..... wasn't that much as i expected when I was shooting , but it turn out to be a good, though we had to make several shots just to get it perfect. The video shoot went perfect today with co-operation of the team members. Thank you guys for your time and patience.
Today we visited the E4 Channel Live Show-Virtually Famous. It was a funny and an interesting live show, where we had a very good time. This visit helped us to learn and experience how to record a show. This was a very special and an unforgettable visit, since it was our first time for a show. Virtually Famous is a British comedy panel game show presented by Kevin McHale. He hosts the comedy panel show with team captains Seann Walsh and Chris Stark that celebrates the weird and wonderful world of online sensations. A great day to remember !! |
